Objective: Develop a universal search system that spans multiple domains and subdomains.
To achieve this, we explored various search engine options, including open-source solutions like Apache Solr and Sphinx, as well as commercial platforms such as Swifttype (Elastic), Algolia, and Sitesearch360. Ultimately, we decided on the Google Programmable Search Engine, which met most of our selection criteria.
Multi-domain search solution
We created a backend and search widget that seamlessly integrates across all client's websites. This widget allows users to select which resources they wish to search, enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of information retrieval.
